Went on a windy day, which was taxing, as it is all grassland. Nice and easy, quiet and few other walkers.

Easy hike through open range land. Took less than 3hrs to do the full hike. No dramatic views but very pretty and peaceful.

The trail is ok for the equine riders, but there are a lot of bikers / runners that take up quite a bit of trail. I like the warm up pen and obstacle course they have built. If you want to work on the hill work and riding there are a lot of good opportunities to do that here.

Coyotes are very cheeky. Do watch your back.... I've been challenged and followed by coyotes on the Kipps Trail section.

P.S. A bit of history: Edward Kipps was an immigrant from England. He (and his wife Louisa) naturalized when he was 27, one year before he died. He was a leather craftsman/merchant in Palmer Lake.
This whole area was a cemetery for Palmer Lake until the 1920's when the 'residents' were 'relocated' to the Monument Cemetery. This is one of the remaining burial sites.

A nice ride. If you do Kipp's Loop with it, you'll get 10.6 miles (according to my GPS anyway). It's a good trail for beginners and possibly a good warm-up for the more more advanced.

The first half was all uphill and the a radical downhill on the second but it was all loose dirt and gravel. Like riding on a beach.

Awesome trail in the Larkspur/Palmer Divide area of Douglas County Colorado. Almost 9 miles in length (if you take the Kipps Loop Trail) Edward Thomas Kipps (1861-1889) is buried on this trail. Beautiful views of the area.
