Great short afternoon hike. Went in late fall early winter so trees weren't as colorful, but would be great during the fall. Nice easy up slope to start than a long decent into the valley floor below. There isn't much of a lake to relax at but many spots along the river were great.

Lots of uphill. Rocks, terrain. So green. Water flowing everywhere. Bridges to cross. Lake is very calm and beautiful. Elevation 9700 feet. Feels like 4 miles straight up hill.

Good trail, my dog liked it! I went to the bridge, solid two hours out and back. Mostly downhill on the way to the bridge, a nice workout on the way back...nothing extreme. Enjoy.

Hiked this trail today. No one on the trail. This clocked 6.25 miles out and back from the base of the Centennial Lift. The lake starting to freeze over in some parts, but overall still a beautiful destination.

some very steep portions along trail. but I was beautiful at the lakes.

Good morning hike, in the afternoon the sun setting makes it hard to enjoy the beautiful lake!

Beautiful day hike to Whitney Lake at 10,956 feet. Steep in sections. Great panoramic views of ridges and peaks to the south and west. Great variety of terrain and vegetation including Aspen groves--especially in mid-September when the leaves are changing.

We did this trail in early October. It was covered in snow but still doable. We saw big horn sheep and some brook trout in the larger lakes. Great hike. Hiking poles were very helpful. It was very secluded.

Gorgeous Fall day-great hike for seeing the colors.

Must park at beaver creek village public parking. 6 miles round trip from parking to lake uphill whole way. Beautiful aspen field and fall colors. Weaving under ski runs. Nice hike.

75% in the shade. A lot of up, however, along a very nice creek the entire way. Lake is beautiful and worth the effort.

I was not a fan of this hike for a few reasons: 1) the hike immediately descends into lower elevation where the creek is and views are inhibited; 2) the terrain rolls up and down for miles gaining and losing elevation which plays tricks on your mind when you're on a long backpacking trip; 3) the hike is almost entirely woody until you reach Harvey Lake (Mile 11); and 4) the trail is badly maintained in parts and overgrown with dense, thick marsh in lowland areas. We hike in 9 miles and did one night before hiking back out. We only did this because neighboring Fall Creek Trail is shutdown due to wildfire. This hike is certainly not on my favorite list.

Very few people on this trail, and the aspens are starting to turn. Lovely.

Definitely start by going up the Missouri pass trail sice that stretch is so beautiful compared to the long walk up to Fancy lake. About 2h up to the first lakes with waterfall along the way. If the weather hits you can easily head back down and still have a good day. If the weather is good, it's totally worth hiking up Missouri pass around. 12'000 ft. The hike down from Fancy pass, pass Fancy lake and down to the trail head is shaded by trees with a few nice spots.
