Eddie D. on Mount Sanitas Trail
I really liked this trail. Easy access, challenging at times and then a low key winding path on the way back to the car lot.
First hike I ever did in CO and absolutely love it. This gets the legs working right from the start, mellows out for a stretch, then some big step up sections. The home stretch isn't too bad. Great hike to catch a sunset depending on the season and sun placement. Highly recommend this hike as a precursor for more challenging hikes in the area (I.e bear peak or royal arch)
We did a loop; went up the Gregory Canyon trail, then took Ranger down. The hike up Gregory Canyon gave us a run for our money; definitely got our workout in. There was scrambling at some places which was fun. Overall good views of Boulder; but pretty busy. We went on a Sunday afternoon; going in the morning would probably be best.
Amazing workout hike! I more enjoyed the clockwise, even if is steeper. The trail is way beautiful than GC and Ranger. Trail marks should be better and accurate in entire park not only on this trail. You take a wrong way easily if you are not familiar with area.
Not busy at all. My 58 year old dad from WI was able to complete it with just a few stop at the steps before the summit. A few areas with loose gravel that I wished I had a hiking pole but overall easy terrain and not overly challenging hike. I would rate it as easy, not moderate. The views from the top are excellent!
Don't pay to park. The trail head is just after you leave Boulder Mountain Park and there is free road parking.
