Short, pretty hike. Lots of small ups and downs, but easy. We walked along the river on the way back.

Good bike trail but little rocky.

This is a nice hike if you don't want to drive too far from Sacramento. Lots to see along the way. If you veer off toward the water you come upon an old bridge and footings from 1918. We took a nice dip in the river and a bald eagle flew right over us!

Not EASY for mountain biking. I would say moderate to hard.

Fun little hike. The water was low which exposed the bridge so we were able to do the loop all the way around. No rattlesnakes spotted :)

Good for exercise and not too hard. Has a small creek that you have to hop over at the start. Not much when I was there but I was there at one of the detest times of the year. Not sure what it would be like earlier in the year. Has a lot of shade so nice for hot days.

There is no waterfall. This trail is Darrington Trail / Salmon Falls Trail. It is confused with Salmon Creek Falls which is located in Big Sur. Luckily I was able to ask people before passing mile 1.

where I fish love this place

The water was nice and calm. Not a lot of people. Hike wasn't that difficult. Didn't see or hear ANY rattlesnakes and we even had a dog with us and a hater of snakes.

My friend and I chose it as a first hike for our kids, figuring we'd go in a mile or so and then turn around and hike back out. We picked it based on the Easy rating and the tag "kid friendly", as well as the photos attached to the hike. We were not expecting a narrow single track on the side of the hill that was all rocks and elevation change. It just wasn't a good choice for them.

That being said, we're going to go back out and tackle it again with just adults. There is a lot to see on this trail, and the switchbacks and narrow singletrack kept things interesting for us. In short, good spot to hike, but be aware that the information is misleading.

One of the best trails around the area. Great views to the river. Shaded, kids friendly. Very quiet, not many people. We didn't see any rattlesnakes.
