Great trail for families, stroller friendly.

Nice short hike with a nice view at the top

I made this hike longer by going to the left at the round 10k marker then going all the way to San Elijo Rd, turn right then go up the double peak rd. 4.7 miles plus the approx 2.5 going down to the trail head. I put a 3 star because of the houses and streets that you have to use. The view from the top is fantastic. Pretty much get a 360 view and can see pretty far. The view makes it worth the hike. I'm sure more stars for a trail runner.

like to run in this trail

Nice easy trail. Views at top were great and it was cloudy. Took our time and stopped multiple times for photos and took just over 2 hours.

I hiked this trail early in the am (645ish) and took the trail up until it branched right or left. I took the trail going left and then found a random, rocky incline that basically went straight up to the top of the mountain. It was no joke! Great exercise! I loved it! Took the "regular" way back down to the lake. As always, bring enough water! When I left the parking lot there were massive groups just heading up. I was glad I went early since I like to hike with minimal amounts of traffic.

Fun hike... Though I wouldn't say it's moderately difficult. This is definitely and easier trail, so don't be intimidated.

Great hike that is pretty much an uphill incline the entire way. Getting to the top is a great reward and offers really spectacular views. Not to mention restrooms, rest area and water fountains! That was good because we exhausted our water supply on the way up. No really shade, so plan accordingly.
