If this trail weren't so conveniently located and didn't have a scenic destination, I wouldn't recommend it. The first third is nestled in a crowded neighborhood, so it doesn't feel like a hike. It gets more interesting (and much steeper) when you leave the neighborhood, though. The destination offers great views of the valley and three mountain ranges: the San Bernardino, Little San Bernardino, and San Jacinto. I did this trail in 60-degree cloudy weather, and it was very comfortable. It must be unbearable on hot sunny days, though.
A somewhat short hike but good views of the local valley. You pass by Bob Hope's house on the way up! No trees or shade. Recommend doing this during the cool months. Some pics and the hike profile are located via the link below.
Emily P. on Araby Trail
This is one of my favorite Palm Springs hikes. Offers amazing views of the valley and up-close views of stunning homes owned by Bob Hope and Steve McQueen to name a few. Take the trail up past the homes and you're rewarded with great views of Murray Hill. What I love about this trail is that you can customize your hike as it allows access to several trails including Henderson, Garstin, Goat Trails, and Shannon to name a few... awesome hike!
