Great trail. The first section of the Go John (hiking clockwise) has a pretty steady incline, definitely get some heart rates up. But the pass onto the Quartz Train and on is nice and easy and overall was a very peaceful and enjoyable hike. Trails well maintained and well marked and facilities are clean and easy to access. A great hike close to town!

Beautiful scenery in the North valley.
Definitely a good work out.
The middle third is very rocky so not suitable for flip flops or soft footwear.
The trail is such that this is not a speed hike. It took me 1hour 45 minutes.
Entrance to the park is $6.00 enforced only by an honor system.
The views are well worth that.
I enjoyed this hike which and would describe it as moderate. There are nice views and was fairly quiet for a Sunday in January. There are restrooms available at the trailhead and there is a $6 fee to enter the park. Bring lots of water, sunscreen and a hat.

Great trail, easy with a few spots that are moderate. Depending on direction it can give you a different challenge. During the spring, expect lots of house poop on the path from the trail rides.
