Steeply rising from Lower Joffre Lake, the glacier-laden peaks are visible from an easily accessible viewpoint 500 metres from the parking lot. If you carry on, the trail becomes a rough, rocky and steep hike through the Coast Mountain range. Evidence of the park
The elevation gain was no joke. It was worth every step. We'd never seen a glacier (matier) up so close. The lakes really are that color. When the sunlight hits them it's the most beautiful color you have ever seen!! The trail itself and surrounding forest- 5 stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The hike was absolutely amazing. Well marked and nice trail. Stunning mountain scenery around you as you hike up. The lakes are beautiful turquoise with glacier mountains around. This hike truly represents beautiful British Columbia. Most acceleration is from 1st to 2nd lake. 2nd to 3rd lake becomes more technical.
As some other reviewers mentioned it's no as difficult as I expected. The biggest elevation gain is between the first and second lake. I'm a pretty avid hiker and made it to the second lake in about 45 minutes. The trail was in good condition, but it was also much busier than I expected. If you go on a weekend expect lots of people and a full parking more.
